Mommy & Me, from three weeks old

A child spends the first nine months of their development in water, and babies take to it naturally. These classes are the gentle version of coming back to it — with a parent holding them the whole time.

Babies from three weeks · a parent in the water throughout · $132 a month for four lessons.

You hold them, we coach you both

The class is designed to be gentle and reassuring for a child who is only starting to explore the world on this side of the womb. A parent is in the water for all of it — the coach teaches the two of you together, which is what makes the water feel safe rather than new.

It runs in three steps as the child grows: first contact and full support, then comfortable submersion and assisted floating, then the beginnings of independent movement with a parent still an arm away.

What you get

What comes with every session

Three weeks, not six months

Most schools open at six months. A newborn who is held in warm water at three weeks grows up treating it as ordinary — which is the easiest way for water to stay easy.

Water built for small bodies

Babies lose heat far faster than adults. Ours is held at 90°F all year — warm enough that a six-month-old stays relaxed for a whole lesson.

UV-purified

The whole pool passes UV lamps every few hours. A fraction of the chemistry of a community pool, and no sting in the eyes on the way home.

Straight onto the ladder

Sea Cubs, Tiger Sharks and Blue Whales are the first three of 11 levels, so a child moves into their own class already knowing the pool and the coaches.

The levels this runs through

Part of the same 11-level progression the whole school runs on, so nobody starts again when they move.
