The whole 30 min belongs to one swimmer. Private is what we reach for when a child is anxious in water, when a family is short on weeks before a trip, or when progress needs to be measured in lessons rather than months.
$70 a session on a recurring slot, $100 for a one-time lesson. Any age, infant to adult.
In a group lesson a coach divides 30 min between three or four children. In a private one the whole session belongs to one of them. That is the difference, and it is why private lessons move fastest for a swimmer who is either behind the group or ahead of it.
We match the instructor to the swimmer rather than the other way round — the coach who is unhurried with a frightened four-year-old is rarely the same one who sharpens a ten-year-old's catch. Tell us which you have.
A recurring slot keeps the same coach and the same time each week. A one-time lesson is there for a visit or a second opinion.
Water anxiety, a competition date, a child who is nearly there — each wants a different instructor. We pick for the swimmer in front of us.
Every minute of the session goes to one swimmer, in the water, being coached. That is why the ladder moves faster here than anywhere else on it.
Private swimmers are graded on the same 11 levels as the groups, so a child can move across to a group at the right rung whenever they are ready.
A recurring weekly slot is $70 a session. A single lesson, for a check-up or a visit, is $100.
We place your swimmer on the ladder during that first session. The assessment is the lesson, and the lesson is the assessment.
