What they learn

What Tadpoles learn

Trust comes first. Each skill is practiced until it feels calm.

  • Going under by choice

The face first, then the whole head, when your child decides to. The coach builds up to it one small step at a time.

  • Holding a breath

Breath holding and breath control, so going under stays calm.

  • Floating on the back

Back floating with support first, then with more independence.

Common questions

What people ask before they book

My child won’t put their face in the water. Is Tadpoles right?

Yes, Tadpoles is built for exactly that. Coaches build trust step by step, and your child goes under when they are ready.

Can an older child start as a beginner?

Yes. Tadpoles takes beginners from 3 years old up, and older swimmers move on to Ducklings once they are comfortable underwater.

How long does it take to pass Tadpoles?

It depends on the child. Most children who come twice a week are comfortable underwater and back floating within 8 to 12 weeks.

What happens after Tadpoles?

Younger swimmers usually move on to Super Frogs, older swimmers to Ducklings. Both teach the same core skills, in a way that suits the age.
