What you get

What comes with every booking

Certified and insured

Certification is where we start. Lifeguards are hand-picked after our own hiring academy and intensive training, and the whole team is insured.

Trained in our own academy

The lifeguard on your deck came through our hiring academy and our intensive training program, so we know how they work a pool before we send them to your event.

One lifeguard per 20 swimmers

Headcount sets the number of lifeguards: one for every 20 swimmers in the water. Tell us the headcount and the pool and we will tell you how many that is.

The full event address, up front

We ask for the complete event address with the request. The travel fee is measured from our Hallandale Beach pool to that address, and the location also tells us which lifeguards are available for it.

Common questions

What people ask before they book

How much does it cost to rent a lifeguard in Miami?

A lifeguard is $60 per hour, with a 3-hour minimum, so the shortest booking is $180. On top of the hourly rate there is a one-time $30 Booking & Coordination Fee per event, which covers event scheduling, lifeguard assignment, certification verification, client coordination, and administrative processing. A $30 Rush Fee applies to requests made less than 72 hours before the event, and a travel fee may apply depending on the event location. Every charge that applies to your event is in the quote before the booking is confirmed.

How many lifeguards do I need for my pool party?

One lifeguard covers 20 swimmers, so the headcount sets the number. What counts is how many people are in the water at once rather than how many are on the guest list, so tell us both and we will work it out with you. Large events and events requiring multiple lifeguards may require additional staffing. Contact us for availability and pricing.

Are your lifeguards certified and insured?

Every lifeguard we send is American Red Cross certified and covered by our insurance. They are hired through our own lifeguard academy and put through an intensive training program before they work an event, so the person on your deck is someone we trained rather than someone we found. Verifying those certifications is part of the Booking & Coordination Fee, and we can confirm them for your venue or HOA when they ask.

How far in advance should I book a lifeguard?

As soon as the date is set. Booking early gives us room to assign the right lifeguards to your event and to confirm availability for the location. Requests made less than 72 hours before the event start carry a $30 Rush Fee, and availability at that notice depends on who is free. For a weekend pool party in season, a week or more of lead time is comfortable.

Do you charge a travel fee, and how is it calculated?

The travel fee is measured from our Hallandale Beach pool to the event address, which is why we ask for the full address with the request. The first 15 miles are included, then 16–25 miles is $25, 26–35 miles is $40 and 36–50 miles is $60. Over 50 miles we quote per event. A travel fee may apply depending on the event location, and any that applies is included in your quote before the booking is confirmed. Parking, valet and venue access fees are the client’s responsibility.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled start time are eligible for a refund of the lifeguard service fee. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time are non-refundable. The $30 Booking & Coordination Fee, and any costs already incurred specifically for the booking, are non-refundable. If you need to move a date rather than cancel it, call us, because a change is easier to arrange than a refund.

What kinds of events do you staff with lifeguards?

Backyard and private pool parties, birthdays and family events, swim meets, music festivals and community events, and season-long coverage for a pool you run. The rate is the same across all of them: $60 per lifeguard, per hour, with a 3-hour minimum. The number of lifeguards comes off how many swimmers will be in the water.

Can I hire lifeguards for a whole season rather than one event?

Yes. Alongside single events we cover pools for a season, which is the arrangement that suits a community pool, a camp or a property that opens its pool for the summer. Recurring coverage is scheduled as a block rather than booked event by event, so tell us the pool, the hours you need covered and the swimmer numbers you expect, and we will put a schedule and a quote together.
